Dri’s Pulse Check - Efforts to improve the economy in the month of Ramadan

Danareksa Research Institute (DRI) has released research related to economic activities in the month of Ramadan with the title "Economic Improvement Efforts to Ramadan". Household consumption that usually increases sharply in the month of Ramadan is relatively low last year and this year. The realization of the pen, including the social assistance program, which was distributed ahead of and during Ramadan, was expected to encourage economic recovery, especially the consumption of the community. The realization of the Pen Program itself was recorded at 22.3%, especially for social protection programs and support for MSMEs. On the other hand, community mobility is also increasing in the month of Ramadan, especially at the shopping place and recreation/tourism. In addition, DRI also provides developments related to COVID-19 and revealed that as of April 2021 Willingness Community vaccination increased (48.31%) Although the percentage that is not willing to be vaccinated is also high (51.69%). Regarding the macroeconomic conditions, the recovery of the Indonesian economy is still slow. Nevertheless, the level of household consumption and investment is getting better and Indonesia is in the Investment Grade zone, mostly with stable outlook. In this research, DRI also discussed further the financial sector and the real sector which revealed that motor vehicle sales continued to increase because the PPnBM policy . According to DRI`s report, domestic car sales are expected to slow down during Ramadan, but will rise again in June 2021. Meanwhile, the Consumer Trust Index (IKK) increases to the level of 80.09 and the trust index in the government is maintained above level 100.
