Jakarta, June 27, 2020 - PT Danareksa (Persero) is committed to continuing to encourage and support Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) in Indonesia through a partnership program to improve the welfare of MSMEs in Indonesia. The partnership program itself has been run Danareksa for more than 25 years and in 2020, Danareksa will again channel the partnership program funds to the target partners. MSMEs have an important and strategic role for national development. Data from the Ministry of Cooperatives and Small and Medium Enterprises (2018) states that MSMEs have a proportion of 99.9% of the total business actors in Indonesia and have absorbed more than 97% of the total workforce and 99% of the total employment. The data shows that MSMEs are one of the main drivers of Indonesia`s economic growth. Nevertheless, in the process of MSMEs will continue to face various challenges, both external sides such as the existing business climate, business competition and from the internal side such as human resource problems and in terms of business financing. Therefore, the support of various parties including BUMNs in Indonesia is very much needed to support the MSME sector in Indonesia. Chairul Iman, Corporate Secretary of PT Danareksa (Persero) said, "Through this partnership program activity, Danareksa is expected to be able to strengthen its reputation as a company that consistently shows concern for the community and as a connecting information to stakeholders in its efforts to improve the welfare of MSMEs in Indonesia." "We realize that various challenges faced by MSMEs to continue to run their business, especially at the time that is currently full of uncertainty. This partnership program is a Danareksa effort in helping to alleviate the uncertainty, in line with Danareksa`s value which continues to try to provide added value to the people of Indonesia. It is hoped that the support and commitment of Danareksa can ensure and convince MSMEs to continue to contribute to the country`s economy and improve the welfare of the community in the future, "Chairul added. During 2019, Danareksa has channeled partnership program funds in the West Java and East Java regions, where in West Java the distribution is carried out to the Dairy Cattle Business Group in Cihanjuang Rahayu Village, Parongpong District, West Bandung Regency. As for the East Java region, distribution is given to the business group of synthetic rattan craftsmen and several MSMEs in Malang and surrounding areas. In addition, in this partnership program, Danareksa also provides training, supervision and assistance for fostered partners in collaboration with the Center for Empowerment Development Services Community (P4M) Research and Community Service Institute (LPPM) Universitas Brawijaya and PT Permodalan Nasional Madani (Persero) to ensure UMKM partners can operate well in the future. The Partnership Program itself is implemented on the legal basis of Law No. 19 of 2003 concerning BUMN and Minister of BUMN Regulation No. Per-05/MBU/2007 with the latest amendments to the Minister of SOE Regulation No. Per-02/MBU/04/04/2020.
