(Kontan) At its Board of Governors (RDG) meeting on 17-18 June 2020, Bank Indonesia will announce the new BI 7-day Reverse Repo Rate. Although the rate has been cut by 50 bps to 4.5% in May 2020 since January 2020, we see that there is room for further rate cuts especially in view of the low inflation (monthly inflation reached only 0.07% in May 2020 or 2.19% yoy) and strengthening in the rupiah which appreciated by 2.8% in May 2020. According to Bloomberg, from 22 analysts, 15 expect a 25 bps rate cut to 4.25% while the other analysts expect BI to maintain the rate at 4.5% Sumber: Danareksa Sekuritas Debt Research Photo by Aron Visuals on Unsplash
